Yet Another Commodore Fansite!

Another box, and a break

I have finally been able to get an empty bundle box for my C64c bundle. I have now sourced a Night Moves box, a bit battered, but looking on YouTube, some PVA glue will be able to bring the box back to some sturdiness. I am not going to try and touch up the cardboard as my artistic talents are somewhat limited!

However….

I thought I was doing myself a favour to put my C64c away for a bit in its box and use the BMC64 bread bin for a while. Unfortunately, I can tell there’s a bit of a lag on some of the games, AND the SID emulation is a tiny bit off. So I put the C64c back, decided to do a few tests and found my SID chip has died, as well as no power going to the cassette port. I haven’t opened it yet, but by a quick Google search, I think the fuse has blown, as everything else works on the C64c.

I have bought a diagnostic cartridge and harness (and fuses) to make sure that everything else is fine, and am awaiting either Retroleum or Ami64 to restock on a replacement SID at the moment. I do have the ARMSID on hand, so at least I can still use the computer until one arrives. I am hoping it was simply a bad SID and not anything else.
